TELEMEDICINE/VIDEO THERAPY FAQ
I offer individual presentations, clinical therapy, performance coaching, and couples counseling via video therapy through software called Simple Practice, avoiding travel time, and allowing for you to see a specialized therapist with the experience and expertise you need from the comfort of your own home.
TELEHEALTH
Telehealth or telemedicine are the professional terms for Video Therapy. This venue allows you to see a professional, licensed psychologist with specialized experience to meet your needs without having to get stuck in traffic or traveling long distances for a specialist. The system uses a format like Skype or FaceTime but which meets federal requirements for medical record security.
INSURANCE
I accept many of the insurance plans in Texas, Arizona, and Maryland (Humana, Blue Shield/Blue Cross, Meridian, MHN, and Tricare). In almost all cases insurance providers cover telehealth/videotherapy services, but I suggest you check with your provider prior to scheduling an appointment.
CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED
Of course! I accept all major credit cards. Yes, even Discover. For telehealth services the fees will be automatically billed directly to your credit card after each session.
MOBILE CALENDAR & SCHEDULING
Not only can you schedule your appointments from your computer, there is also an app. you can download that will allow you to schedule your appointment and communicate directly with me from your mobile device.

Do you think I run my practice without digital calendars and reminders… of course not. So you will also receive gentle reminders about upcoming appointments and appointment times.
SECURITY
Working under the guidelines of HIPPA and laws that govern secure medical records, I provide a service that offers added precaution. For those who might want to remain out of the insurance system I take private direct pay, requiring no reporting beyond your personal behavioral health record that I protect and maintain.
